Are We Playing God? Medical Technology and the Change in God's Creation from the Perspective of Shi'ite Islam

Shi‘ite Islam posits that medical technologies such as cloning or genetic engineering are not a change in God’s creation and cannot be forbidden for this reason. The study presents the main religious­-legal arguments opinion difference between view of theology jurisprudence interpretation term “change creation”. Jurisprudence emphasizes spiritual nature (deviation from monotheism) over physical supports it with other methodological principles. This definition excludes analysed techniques, therefore does consider them creation. conclusions supplemented by specific legal concerning most discussed areas, i.e. cloning, engineering, gender reassignment cosmetic surgeries, briefly compared Sunni position.
